Living with Godly Courage

Scripture Reading: Joshua 1:9 (NIV)
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Reflection
Life often calls us to face challenges that test our resolve—whether it’s standing up for what’s right, stepping into an unknown future, or persevering through adversity. In these moments, fear and doubt can creep in, tempting us to shrink back. Yet, God calls us to live with courage rooted in His presence. Joshua 1:9 reminds us that our strength comes not from ourselves but from the assurance that God is with us.

Godly courage doesn’t mean the absence of fear; it means trusting God’s faithfulness enough to move forward despite it. Joshua faced the daunting task of leading Israel into the Promised Land, yet God’s command to be strong and courageous was grounded in His promise to never leave. Today, we can draw on that same promise, knowing that God equips us for every step He calls us to take.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your constant presence that gives me courage. When fear or doubt threatens to hold me back, remind me that You are with me. Fill me with Your strength to face every challenge with faith and boldness, trusting in Your unfailing promises. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Action Step
Reflect on an area of your life where you need courage—perhaps a conversation, a decision, or a step of faith. Write down Joshua 1:9 and place it somewhere visible, like your desk or mirror. Pray for boldness, then take one practical step today toward facing that challenge, trusting God is with you.

Closing Thought
Godly courage flows from knowing the Lord is by your side. As you face today’s challenges, let His presence empower you to step forward boldly, confident that He will guide and uphold you.
